If you ever want to clean your San Disk Ultra 32GB Flash Drive go right ahead. It will go through the ordeal without harm. At least that is what we discovered when one afternoon Natalie asked me what happened to the flash drive we used to transfer data the other day. I didn’t have a clue, which isn’t unusual for me. I forget where I put everything. Natalie searched all over the place, which isn’t hard in a 5th Wheel coach and came up with nada.
I asked if she had checked my shirt, I was afraid I might have left it in my pocket. This could be a bad thing for I was in the process of doing our weekly laundry. She said she had and it wasn’t there. Was I ever relieved.
It is always frustrating when something goes missing. I always blame the Borrowers, those invisible little folks that steal things around the house when you are not looking. However, in this case, that wasn’t the case.
When I went to take the clothes out of the dryer, along the rim to the dryer tub I saw three things: A small metal pill container Natalie used for carrying vitamins, several coins, and you guessed it, the Flash Drive. Apparently, even though it wasn’t in my shirt, it was most definitely in another pocket! Oooops.
We decided to try the Flash Drive in our computer to see if it worked. We inserted it and the “bong-bong” sound of a USB device was music to our ears. Amazing. Then the screen came up asking about the opening of the files. Shocking. The files popped up and showed no less harm for the laundering. Now the next and final test… we opened one of the files. And yes, it came up looking perfect.
Ok, I think we were very, very lucky. I do not suggest you intentionally wash and dry your SanDisk Ultra 32GB Flash Drive, or any other drive for that matter. But in case you don’t check your pockets and accidentally toss them in the laundry, try them out before throwing them out. You might be surprised, too.
